Mark your calendars for Sunday September 20th! We are having a potluck meal first and then a hayride at Summit Park following the 10:30am Service. Start time around noon.
Following lunch, if it’s nice, thanks to Randy & Connie Hastings we will be going on a HAYRIDE. A stop will be made partway through the ride at Jasper’s Apples. They have a nice selection of apples, plus caramel apples, apple cider donuts, and more. They have mapped out the ride so you will see the beauty of the “summit”. Dress for the weather and consider a blanket to sit on.
The theme for our potluck meal is SOUPS & SIDES.
We need 5 – 6-quart soups (knowing what kind of soup you are bringing will help so we don’t have duplicates). Sides ideas: sandwiches, cheese, crackers regular or oyster, sausage, veggies, scoops/chips, bread sticks or buns and of course desserts, tis the season for apples and pumpkins.
Again the sign-up has a place to note what you are bringing.
FCC will provide the plates, bowls, plastic ware, napkins, cups and drinks. For drinks we will have apple cider, coffee, and water.
There are lots of picnic tables. Please bring your own lawn chair if you prefer. Also, Connie has some blankets, but not enough for all the bales, so we need some extra blankets.
We will have 3 sets of corn hole, (safe) axe throwing, and the “big” connect 4 as well as cards and some board games. These will be available before and after we eat and during the hayride for any who choose to stay behind.
Summit Park is located on Hwy 58 (out past the hospital). It’s about 7 ½ miles out from Mauston. The Summit Hall is right across the road from the shelter and that fire number is N1025.
You can come for lunch only, come around 1pm for the hayride or come for both!
